With You Every Step of the Way

Therapy can help you to understand yourself better. By exploring our emotional world we can begin to make sense of patterns of behaviour, which often we aren't even aware of, and how these influence the way we live our lives. Sometimes this means that we don't always make the best choices, or that we find ourselves in the same situations or relationships over and over again. Maybe you feel that you're just not happy with where you are in your life and want some help to think about changes.

People come to therapy for all sorts of issues, some of which have been going on for years and others because of a recent trauma.  Whatever the reason, my psychotherapy sessions provide a safe space in which to explore your thoughts and feelings in the hands of a qualified professional.

The sessions last 50 minutes each week, and are usually at the same time and place. I work on a one to one basis, in a quiet clinic in the Brighton area with good transport links and parking.

The sessions are confidential and provide a safe place for you to talk through your feelings, with someone who is non-judgemental and here to help.

The cost per session is £50

More about what I do

My approach is to use ideas about how we relate to others, and how we perceive our sense of self, to help make better informed choices for ourselves. To discover the patterns that we repeat, and to make sense of our internal worlds and our relationships.  Through the use of various psychotherapy methods we can learn to make better decisions for ourselves, and to implement changes to improve our quality of life. Sometimes it's about accepting what cannot be changed, but having someone to talk to who's not involved in your life outside of the therapy room, can be helpful in the journey to acceptance.

By exploring ourselves we can work on improving our sense of self worth and develop healthy coping strategies when things aren't going so well.

Before training as a therapist, I worked in a community setting providing clinical support to people who had been diagnosed with personality disorders.

I have extensive experience in the following:

Anger Management

Domestic Violence

Drug Misuse

Emotional Abuse

Eating Issues

Mental Health

Self Harm

Sex and Sexuality

Sexual Trauma and Abuse

Suicidal Ideation

In addition to psychotherapy, I also provide CBT and Grounding Techniques.

I am a registered psychotherapist  with UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) and BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists)

In the therapy sessions, we’ll work together to explore your problems and collaboratively develop a better sense of who you are.

I offer short and long term therapy. Short term is usually 8 weeks and long term is generally open ended  and varies from client to client. No two people are the same and my approach is very much centered on working with you as an individual.

Before we start  the therapy, we would have an initial session which is at the usual fee of £50. This is a space for you to tell me what's troubling you and how I can help. It's an opportunity to find out if  I'm the right therapist for you and see if we make a good fit.

It can be a bit daunting to make the first step, but rest assured that I work form the position of a kind and empathic therapist with plenty of experience.  Please don't hesitate to get in touch to book an initial appointment or if you'd like more information.
